Investigating the Effects of Lubrication on Wheel-Track Dynamic Interaction via Experiments on a Twin Disc Test Rig

Lubrication is widely used to reduce wear of wheel and rail profiles by decreasing the friction between flange rail. The effects lubrication on dynamic response were investigated in this study, analysing responses adjoining bearing housing. experiments conducted a 1/3rd scale twin disc rig, with single disc, which can have various speeds, loads creepage. First, theoretical modal parameters calculated constructing finite element model order obtain shapes interested modes. Then, Frequency Response Function (FRF) tests exciting laboratory rig measuring house. It shows that FRF has good agreement frequency domain signals housing when running under varying speeds.
